The Hook-set Harness can be configured many different ways, from a single hook line-thru, to the traditional wire form, to the laser cut steel plate. This lure design does very well with one, or two treble hooks attached. The hook-set harness configuration you choose should be based on the following applications: See top right lure graphic.
TFI Model 2.5-1
Using simple insert mold tools; this hook-set configuration makes for an excellent lateral darting behavior. It also accepts a small light stick that glows thru the PVA body. This is the lure that took the bass in The REED ME cover photos.
TFI Model 2.5-2.
This hook-set configuration is like the one above, but it has a tail hook rather than a belly hook. Both line thru lures require a mold tool insert that holds the ballast in place during injecting. See Book # 3, Lure Making for tool insert instructions.
TFI Model 2.5-3
The laser cut, steel plate (.030ga) is by far the most expensive hook-set harness. However it is also the easiest to work with when setting the molds up for injection. See: Book # 3, Lure Making, Laser Cut Plates.
TFI Model 2.5-4
The conventional, three point Wire-Form, Hook-set Harness. Requires a mold insert tool for positioning the ballast during injection.
TFI Model 2.5-5
Same as above; but a single tail hook-set. A good hook-set for attaching weedless trailers, or skirted hooks. Requires mold tool insert for positioning the ballast during injection.
TFI Model 2.5-6
A single wire-form that adds strength between the lure and line for PVA, Soft body crank-baits. Mold insert tools are required for the light stick, glass rattle cavity, and ballast.
TFI Model 2.5-7
Wire Eyes are a low cost way of putting a hook-set attachment, in rigid body lures, just about anywhere you want them. They are also used in prototype mold making to locate the line eye & hook-set points.
