sides of the sculpting block are as flat and square as possible. This will allow an accurate transfer of your scale design drawing to the sculpting block. Use square to mark and draw grid lines 1/4” apart on sculpting block, as indicated by red lines. Locate the same reference point on the side of the sculpting block. Mark that spot with a pencil dot. Do the same for the location of the center of the tail. Continue this procedure until yo have made a dotted outline of your design shape, using the grid lines on both the design drawing, and the sculpting block as reference points. Connect the dots with a pencil line. Repeat this dot and line drawing procedure on the sculpting block face, back, belly, and tail. Use a straight edge to draw straight lines.
