DESCRIPTION
Figure. 1. demonstrates how a Top Water Lure made of polywood, with the weight of hooks added, will float slightly more submerged than center.
As with the Zero Buoyancy applications; this lure can be fine tuned to float high or low on the surface.
The “Pop-R” configuration can be made longer, and will accept additional belly hooks.
You may notice that I have placed the belly hook to be more forward than most lures of this type.
I believe that preditor gane fish aim for the head of their prey using the eyes as a target.
As you begin to design and creat a master plug of a lure such as these; you have the ability to play creatively and depart from designs the big three lure makers have been shoving over the counter for the last fifty years.
As a lure designer you have the ability to make changes that may more resemble a life-like creature (food sourse).
The real nifty part of making a design like these better; is ultimately fine tuning the design & colors to match the hatch in your geographic fishing waters.
