DESCRIPTION
The PVA lure making system is a low cost micro-factory tool setup. With the minimum list of tools, Materials & Equipment; Lure Makers can produce thousands of these mini lures & jigs from one single cavity mold. PVA is a material that will not hold screw eyes or cast-in eyelets. PVA requires a cast-in, wire, line & hookset harness. Fig. 1, 2, 3, & 4.
The wire harness also serves to hold the cast-on ballast. Fig. 4. demonstrates a 1/8th Oz slip sinker as ballast. This design requires a simple mold tool to hold the slip sinker in place during PVA injection.
The ballast & wire harness in exploded view (Fig. 8) demonstrates a ballast configuration designed specifically to make these mini lures very heavy. A seperate mold for casting the ballast onto the wire harness is required. However; expensive machine tooling an aluminum mold is not necessary. This ballast is not made of lead. It is made of a cold-cast material combination of Tungeston Heavy Powder with a fast setting, polyester resin binder.
This mini version of the TFI lipless crank bait has a very powerful tail beating action, and can be converted to a jointed swimmer by adding soft plastic trailers such a eels or worm tails, etc.
Fig. 3 & 9. demonstrate a hide-a-way hook that is fitted into the lure body. The hook holding cavity, in the tail of the lure body is created with a simple mold tool during PVA material injection.
Fig. 6 & 7. Are jig type designs that use a common pre-fab Tube Bait, weighted hook. A soft PVA lure body takes the place of a slip-on tube bait.
