The AMERICAN LURE MAKERS ASSOCIATION is now in formation and soon to be officially chartered as a Not For Profit Organization of The United States, in support of The State of California, Kern River Valley Fisheries Preservation & Youth Education, ALMA Programs. What is ALMA, and what for?

The Lure Makers DIRECTORY (http://luremakingdirectory.com) opened for business on March 1, 2008. The Catagory List was settled on by a half dozen lure make’n, fish’n outdoor tipes turned Webmaster for a day. The #1 question was “What resource information would you have wanted someone to provide you 20/30 years ago; when you were starting out to make fishing lures”? We hope the resources the Directory provides will be a valuable time saver. The Fishing & Outdoors listings are also included as a time saving convenience. Most can be helpful and educational apart from lure making.
Why the Dot-com? What used to be a one page list of names of companies TRUEFLEX Imagineering did business with when it was manufacturing lures; became Book #4, Chapter V (Directory) in the original Lure Makers Dream Factory Guide; now known as: The Art Sport & Business of Lure Making, Books of Lure Making Instruction. This original Directory was added to the instruction books as a chapter; to provide someplace for lure makers to find Tools, Equipment, Accessories & Materials to get started making lures. It was more of a “Try looking here” list with no additional information about the companies listed.
After nearly three years of producing the free version of The Lure Makers Magazine; the private funding it takes to create and maintain such a monster website; (e-Zine) is dwindling; to say the least. We are hoping that Advertising and Subscription sales will pay the way for many years to come. The cost of producing The Lure Makers Directory, up to it’s starting point is 500 hours of webmaster time with a ticket of about $8,000. bucks. Let’s face it; Advertising sales is assential to keeping any information publisher in business. Just ask the owner of your favorite “Let’s Go Fish’n” magazine.

99% of the Advertising Is Tossed Out

99% of the Ad Spots placed in The Art, Sport & Business of Lure Making e-Zine are in the process of being removed. This will make entering the contents and feature pages much faster than before. No more slow ad graphic loading just to open the pages you paid to read. No Advertising in the AS&BLM is new policy. Future Chapters of Lure Making Instruction will not have advertising included.

February Publishing Schedule Late, 156 Excuses
|
It was more a matter of finishing BOOK #4. After all; what good is all this great lure making instruction if having the right stuff to make lures with is still a mystery? There never seems to be enough webmasters around when you need a dozen er’so.
The 156 pages of The Lure Makers Directory are up and running now. Our keyboard scared, mouse smashing, half dead and monitor blind Webmaster, or what’s left of him has returned to preparing Instruction books for Internet presentation.
March will be chapter publishing and catch-up month. We sincerely appreciate your consideration regarding the late publishing of the February schedule.
