Hi Hank. Great job with your lure concept. I am excited for you to think how many different lure designs the motion hair concept could be applied to. I can see how this extreamly life-like effect will bring LMBs & Musky to the surface for the killer strike. Fishermen will buy this lure. I would. I love topwater action.
Graphics (right) are some quick sketches based on your lure design drawings. I think this will help demonstrate how the negative impression (slot) in the lure body is made by a positive extrusion in the mold cavity face. Figure 1. & 2.
The only minor concern in making the mold to do this is making the slot in the lure body to be slightly conical in it’s cross section Figure 3.
“Mold lock” is caused by having undercuts in a part the mold cannot release from. This should be easy enough to prevent when the master plug is made to be lock free. Use a conical router bit when cutting the slot in the master plug body. Figure 4.
