The charts below work great for figuring out how to turn what you have into something you need. Example: You want to catalyze one gallon of polyester resin. The label on the resin can says you should catalyze the resin at 2.5% by volume. How much is 2.5% of one gallon? Making things worse; your catalyst measuring container is calidrated in Cc’s. So; how many Cc’s does it take to catalyze one gallon of resin @ 2.5% by volume? 

 

FORMULA:  1Gal.=3,785CC’s x 2.5% BY VOLUME:  Answer is: 94.63CC’s

One gallon of water (H20) = 231 cu. In. = 128 fl. oz. = 3785 cc’s or grams = 3.785 liters.  One Gallon of H2O (Water) = 8.3453 lbs. 

 

Polywood (Our primary lure body material) One Gallon = 4.40 lbs. Therefor; it floats on water 50.5% submerged. Floatation can be increased with the addition Micro-Balloons. Reference: Fillers
